Spring & Fall Group Cleanses

Personally taught and guided by j9, this group food cleanse draws on ancient Ayurvedic traditions and more than three decades of her experience. You purchase your own ingredients and cook your own three daily plant-based meals of beans, rice, vegetables, herbs, and spices. j9 teaches you through weekly Saturday morning food-preparation demonstrations—live by video or in person in her North Knoxville kitchen—with recordings and ongoing guidance. The shopping, cooking, and daily practices are your responsibility; you gain skills and support from j9 and fellow participants.

Before you join

Is the group cleanse a good fit for you?

This program teaches practical skills for preparing nourishing plant-based meals, building mindful routines, and recognizing daily habits that may affect how you feel. In a safe, supportive group, women can practice these skills together and carry them into everyday life. Some participants may hope for greater comfort or fewer everyday aches, but individual results vary and the cleanse is not a substitute for medical care.

  • Choose a long weekend, 7, 14, 21, or 30 days, according to your needs and suitability.
  • Buy all your ingredients, cook your own meals, and eat plant-based foods throughout your chosen cleanse, generally cooking once daily.
  • No meat, poultry, seafood, fish, eggs, or dairy during the cleanse.
  • No alcohol, nicotine, or recreational drugs.
  • No seed oils or desserts during the cleanse.
  • Commit to the plan for your chosen duration, without planned cheat days.
  • One cup of black coffee or green tea per day is allowed; water and unsweetened herbal tea are also welcome.
  • Learn directly from j9 at weekly Saturday morning cooking demonstrations—via live video or in person in her North Knoxville kitchen; you purchase your own ingredients and cook all your meals.
  • Practice brief daily mindfulness; reflective journaling is optional.
  • If you are under a doctor’s care, obtain their permission before participating. Continue taking all prescribed medications. Supplements are okay to continue; check with your clinician about possible interactions or restrictions.

This is food preparation and wellness education, not medical treatment, a cure for pain, or individualized nutrition therapy. The meal plan may need modification to provide adequate nutrition, especially for longer durations; it may not be suitable for everyone. Please consult a qualified clinician or registered dietitian before an extended cleanse if you have any health concerns.

March and October 2027 groups are planned. Registration opens approximately one month before each group begins; you are welcome to ask questions now. Self-guided cleansing is also available for those who prefer to proceed independently.
